Solidarity Bridge Launches its First Mission in this Jubilee Year of Mercy

Written by Mary McCann Sanchez, Senior Director of Programs

"Let us be renewed by God's mercy...let us enable the power of his love to transform our lives, and let us become agents of this mercy." Solidarity Bridge missioners - whatever their individual creed - capture the spirit of Pope Francisco's message by working to provide people in need with medical treatment otherwise unavailable to them. The General Surgery Mission Team is well-equipped with skills and supplies to meaningfully respond to the call of this Year of Mercy-an invitation to love, kindness, and unbounded generosity.

With expertise in complex surgeries, the General Surgery Team will spend the upcoming week with Bolivian surgeons in Cochabamba and Tiquipaya. Together we will strive to heal individuals who face the dual challenge of extreme poverty and life-threatening conditions, such as cancer. Solidarity will be expressed in works of mercy that enhance the lives of all.
