Cancer Team Returns to Santa Cruz

In March 2018, Solidarity Bridge launched its first mission trip dedicated exclusively to cancer surgeries. Warmly welcomed by our hosts at the Cancer Institute of Eastern Bolivia in Santa Cruz, we fervently hoped it would be the start of a lasting partnership.

Today, an expanded team is returning to the Cancer Institute. At their request, we’ve added a gynecologic surgeon to our team of two general oncology surgeons, three anesthesiologists, a PA, surgical nurse, and other support staff. After full days collaborating in complex surgeries, four of the mission doctors will also present evening medical conferences for Bolivian medical students and doctors traveling to Santa Cruz from across the country for the event.

We are incredibly honored to once again scrub-in with some of Bolivia’s most preeminent oncologists at the Cancer Institute.
