Solidarity Bridge
Founded in 1999, Solidarity Bridge works in a spirit of solidarity, partnering with communities in Bolivia and Paraguay to increase access to safe, affordable surgery and other essential health care. Solidarity Bridge’s vision is a just, compassionate, and interdependent world, where the health needs of those most vulnerable are prioritized and medical professionals have the necessary resources to serve their communities.
Fundación Puente de Solidaridad
Fundación Puente de Solidaridad opened their doors in 2005 to manage Solidarity Bridge’s programs and day-to-day operations in Bolivia. They are now a legally and financially independent foundation. Headquartered in Cochabamba and with an office in Santa Cruz, Puente de Solidaridad nurtures critical relationships with partner doctors and hospitals throughout Bolivia, employs social workers who work with patients and their families, manages a supply warehouse that catalogs, stores, and distributes in-kind donations, and runs year-round surgical programs staffed by Bolivia medical partners. PUENTE DE SOLIDARIDAD INTERNACIONAL
Puente de Solidaridad Internacional, founded in 2005, is an LLC that manages the export needs of the Fair Trade Program of Solidarity Bridge and Puente de Solidaridad. Without the support of this entity, the cooperatives that export to the U.S. would not be able to do so. In addition to providing exporting capacity, there are capacity building opportunities provided to the cooperatives.
Solidarity Medical Equipping
An expression of social entrepreneurship, Solidarity Medical Equipping, is an LLC that imports and distributes expensive surgical implants in Bolivia. It has as its goal making accessible these materials to those with lesser means through a market based model of sales that provide funds for subsidizing these materials to those in need.
