At Solidarity Bridge, we’ve spent 25 years fostering health, hope and compassion. Rooted in the tradition of Catholic social justice teachings and a spirituality of solidarity, we work in partnership with committed professionals in Bolivia and Paraguay to increase access to safe, affordable surgery and other essential healthcare for our most vulnerable brothers and sisters.
Started in Evanston, in 1999, Solidarity Bridge is a direct response of the laity to the Gospel call to heal the sick. Together, our mission teams and South American colleagues strive to live the conviction that, as one human family, we are one – somos uno.
Celebration Mass at Holy Name Cathedral!
For 25 years, Chicago area parishes have been signs of hope in Bolivia and Paraguay for tens of thousands of patients in need of urgent medical care.
We give thanks to Holy Name Cathedral for celebrating our Silver Jubilee Anniversary on October 20th, and for praying for the lifesaving work that lies ahead.

This 25th anniversary milestone inspires hope
For the patients we’ve served, this is a celebratory time to acknowledge their life-sustaining care. We hope they have felt God’s compassion and love through the healing hands of their caregivers. For all who still suffer from treatable conditions, this anniversary milestone inspires hope. We will continue to work toward a future where all people have equitable, timely and affordable access to care.
