Bolivia

From the Amazon Basin to the heights of the Andes, Bolivia is a landlocked country that boasts a remarkably diverse array of climates, landscapes, flora and fauna, and other natural features. Thirty-six indigenous nations contribute to Bolivia's rich tapestry of cultures, traditions, and histories. The human diversity of this most-indigenous country in South America has made Bolivia an especially grace-filled place to be in relationship.

Bolivia is also the most economically impoverished country in South America, and has struggled to overcome centuries of colonial rule, economic exploitation, and political manipulation. In recent years, social movements representing the rural farmers, urban laborers, and Bolivia's indigenous majority have organized against exploitation and oppression, unleashing significant social and political changes in the country.
