Dr. Gueider Salas, Neurosurgeon

Dr. Salas pursued his specialization in neurosurgery through studies in Sucre and La Paz, Bolivia, Mexico City, Mexico, and Brussels, Belgium. He is a preeminent Bolivian neurosurgeon leading the way in his field. He currently serves as the President of the Bolivian Society of Neurosurgeons, and of the Congress of Latin American Neurosurgeons. Dr. Salas was introduced to Solidarity Bridge missioners participating in one of the first neurosurgery mission trips to Bolivia. He immediately recognized the opportunity opened by Solidarity Bridge to bring training in the latest surgical techniques to the country, and he has been instrumental in those efforts ever since. His intimate knowledge of the unique needs of the Bolivian neurosurgical patient help guide our efforts to increase access to safe, affordable surgery, especially for the most vulnerable patients.
